The Azerbaijani entry has created a feeling of underwater setting on the stage via a netting hung in the backdrop creating a murky foggy backdrop and with some dark green colours implying seaweed. There are three podiums with steps on the stage. The four female backing singer-dancers are on top of one and Safura herself on top of the other one. The steps light up as Safura descends off her podium. There are also some images of water drop images projected to Safura’s podium. The ladies meet in the middle of the stage for some dance moves and the four ladies then rise to the podium vacated by Safura. A bare-chested man also joins Safura for some dance moves, she then walks up and down the catwalk and returns to finish her song on the stage.
Safura was today seen in a short black dress and the backing singers in similar silver ones. Other outfits are planned however for next rehearsal. The Azeri team makes very good use of all the facilities available on the stage here and Safura has now trained her voice to suit this song to maximum effect and sings it effortlessly. Drip drop should easily live up to the pre-contest hype and place well with this modern pop song with r’n’b elements.

PETE:
I was wary of how Safura’s vocals would sound but they were great so no worries for her there.
Overall, this was a great rehearsal. Azerbaijan is definitely a contender for this year, though it is not , in my opinion, a definite winner.

KEITH:
Things got a little tricky for Safura’s rehearsal as we lost power in the Press Working Area… Vocally Safura is fine, her backing vocalists are great but there’s something missing here. A little more work may turn it from a guaranteed finialist into a serious contender to win.

FOTIS
Safura gives her first performance in a spectacular set up. She comes down from a staircase with lighted steps and led monitors aside. Four female backing vocalists are also coming down from another staircase and a male dancer interacts the the singer and her friends. Vocally there are no problems. The stage presentation is dramatic, suitable for the song.

EVA
NRK decided to use no led monitors this year and Azerbaijan made sure we don’t miss it. Totally theatrical at some points it got too much but after all this country shows they want the trophy badly.
